That's King Scout

I went to Ipoh for   Majlis Penganugerahan Sijil Pengakap Raja negeri Perak  last week. I was so happy to meet my scouting mates, after the last camping 5 years ago where we were all together.

The ceremony has ended successfully!! Although it was not as grand as I expected, this ceremony is still a memorable mark in my diary, a proud time in my life...

Finally I get the certificate from DYTM Raja Muda Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah ibni Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah . He is handsome and tall. True!!

Salute
Watch the eyes
Smile
Raise hand, take and hold the scroll
say “Patik menjunjung kasih Tuanku”
Salute
Leave the stage with a scroll in my hand.

This 10 seconds of precious moment when I stand so near to Raja Muda had snapped in a photo cost rm50. Our cash flow like water from open tap after registered, urgh!! No idea, this is the only day in a life time, if money can buy a good day, why not just pay ‘a little’ to get a remembrance of it?!

This ceremony is a pride I owned, maybe only once in my life time.
This certificate is a proof of accomplishments of my scouting mission.
This day is one of the most exciting days for me.

Let pictures tell the stories...

The rehearsal night
Most of my friends don’t believe that I’m a scout!
 The King Scout badge

Raja Muda Perak Raja Dr Nazrin Shah...cool~

Patiently waiting to go up onto the stage

Scroll in hands

I GOT THE CERTIFICATE! Call me Queen King

With my scouting buddies also schoolmates, from the same troop

My beloved scouting mates from the same district! Love them very much

Okay, I know I’m not a very active and loyal scout, but hey, still one right?! Hahaha

PS: Everyone went back to Anson right after the ceremony while I meet up my aunt and end my day with Ipoh's famous Nga-Choi-Gai...wHee! Yummy

See you, Raja Muda Perak!

When I’m in Form 1, I already knew the importance of extracurricular activities. So I joined clubs and society, got high posts in all of them...

When you have two elder brothers who are Tang Soo Do’s black belt holders (Tang Soo Do is another type of Korean martial art like Taekwondo) and both them were already declared the King Scouts in Perak State, they will ask you to follow in their footsteps.

At first, I chose Tang Soo Doo, but I quit after 2 months. The reason is.. I don’t like fighting! Well, I know it sounds lame, it just bored to me.

After that, scouting is part of me, by the time I was in secondary school. Just as scheduled, from a newbie of knowing nothing about scouting, I finished the King Scout Camp by Form 5. Then 4 of the scouts from Troop 05, Hilir Perak, were declared the King Scouts in the school. Guess what rewards we got from our school? F*ck...a certificate and a towel with a soap!! Damn it!! Not even a trophy~~ I’ll never forget this lame award!! SAA always treat scout as a club with only Chinese, and they never appreciate us!

“Once a scout, always a scout” said Lord Smith Baden Powell.
I’m sorry Lord, please forgive me that I didn’t keep this enthusiasm and the scouting spirit in the days after I finished school.

One day, after I came back from shopping in the town, I saw some letters in the mailbox. I saw one envelope with my name and address hand-written on it. Erm...who wrote me a letter? In such a traditional way...*wink* What’s inside?

“MAJLIS PENGANUGERAHAN SIJIL PENGAKAP RAJA NEGERI PERAK”

5 years after I stepped out from the hell-like scout camps, an invitation to receive the King Scout certificate, a very distinguished certificate bearing the signature of the King and all the Sultans in Malaysia, has finally came.

This ceremony will be a mark in my proud personal life.
This certificate will be a key that brought back my teenage-hood scouting memories.

People, I’m not ATTENDING to this ceremony!! No matter how far away I am and how rush it will be.

Urghh...I can’t wait to meet all of my scouting buddies!!

Uniform...Check!
Shoes...Check!
Camera...Check!

Ok! Leaving now…

Short note: When you are reading this post, I’m in Ipoh right now!! I had preset the post. I’m probably eating “nga-choi-gai” now. Hehehe! Today must be one of the most exciting days for me, and us. Wheee =P

Life for share @
