I'm in magazine!!

One morning I receive an unexpected message from my coursemate.

"You are in Majalah RASA July issue!!"

What’s the first thing you would do when you appear in a magazine or newspaper?

Is to go out and buy yourself a copy of that. So I went to bookstore to search for it.

Sorry to tell you that, I didn’t buy the magazine but only took photos and then put it back on the rack. This is a photo of the actual interview content published in the magazine here.

OMG!!! I’m in the magazine!!! A COOKING MAGAZINE!!

HuiLeng is in a cooking magazine…in her chef suit! How weird it is!

This girl never buys a cooking magazine in her life time and she actually doesn’t like to cook.

You must be wondering what’s going on…

Okay! Back to March of the year, one morning of our business day......

I was given the task to make my favourite Loh Mai Chi for sale. When another group was having briefing session, there come a group of people holding cameras and recorders. Nobody knows who are they and why they come...

While waiting for the dough to be cooked, I walking around to disturb others and offer some help. So ‘the victim of the day’ was Rocky.

When I'm playing with Rocky, one lady came to me. She told me about RASA magazine and asked for my information for a further interview later. She also took a photo of me. The same things happen to Rocky.

Rocky and I looked at each other.
We were like “Har… we were playing wo.. why she choose us for an interview!??”

I'm the second from right

After some months, I didn’t receive any call and I totally forgot this thing.

Then, one evening of May when I’m driving home, I received a phone call from the publishing company and had an interview. I actually don’t know what I’ve said during the interview. Basically, I just simply answer the questions. Thanks to the editor who wrote me a nice content!

RASA magazine is a monthly cooking magazine in Malay language. In the magazine, there are recipes of traditional local food and modern food, also tips of cooking, interviews of some professional chefs and newbies in food industry. Every issue has its own theme. So the July issue of 2010 is about 100 Juadah Bazaar & Warung.

And UMT Food Science (Food service and Nutrition) students are featured in ‘Dari Kampus Hot Cat’ !

A short getaway to Resorts World Genting

Days ago I went to Resorts World Genting, formerly known as Genting Highlands (AGAIN) for a 2D1N stay with Yap’s family! Last time I used to be together with the 3 brothers, but now only me and the youngest Yap since the eldest one is in US while the second one is in India...Everyone has grown up and pursuing our own dreams. It’s hard for us to have a vacation together anymore.

I'm with my glasses for these days as I'm still having a swollen eye. See my right eye.
Spot the differences of me with and without glasses.

I went there by a Go-Genting bus from Anson. RM8 only for go and return. Super cheap!! And we watched God of Gambler during our journey...to wish us win many many $$$$$!

Chow Yun-Fatt as the God of Gambler...the forever DOU-SHAN!
It’s already 12pm when I reached and First World Hotel’s lobby was crowded with lots of people. So while waiting for our turn for room keys, I went jalan-jalan and watched these clowns doing performances. So, I spent 2 hours to get my room...This is the first time I stayed here as I usually stayed in Highland or Genting Hotel. Kinda miss the rooms there..

The clowns are performing "SAN LUN CHE" . Huh?!

There’s this nice view from the room. It’s cloudy and quite foggy today!

And I see flyers, papers, and even plastic bag ‘flying’ down from the top and I’m actually staying in 13th floor.
Hey people from 14th floor onwards, your room don’t have dustbin is it?!
Please be civilized larrr..

After a short rest, the youngest Yap and I went to have our early dinner at Be A Star Karaoke as we have 2 free vouchers entitled to 2 hours of singing and free meals and drinks. wHeeee..everything is FOC! I enjoyed much with my curry chicken rice with coke and imagine I’m lalalalala singing in front of thousand of fans!! Wahahaha..thank you! Thank you~

After the dinner, we headed to the Cineplex for Toy Story 3. We had the best seat exactly the center of the row of premier seat =P I like the clumsy Mr. Potato Head very much! He’s very funny la…and I almost laugh till drop after Woody and friends accidentally reset Buzz to Spanish setting during their escape. Buzz became so romantic!! Go watch if you haven’t watch this.

Right after the show, we headed to The Pavillion for Dazzle!
(no photo to show to you as no photographing is allowed during the show!)

There’s magic performance from Ernesto Planas from Cuba, hand shadow acts by Sonny Fontana which is really amazing, very sexy lady dancers doing musical shows, the Statue of Jerome Murat and the Invisible Man which is kinda bored. The Duo Presto quick change act impressed me a lot...How can they change their clothes so fast in just an eye blink?! Mmm, I think I know the answer!! It’s a good show overall but I prefer the Dreamz show I watched years ago. There’s white lion, white tiger and the magic shows is more stunning!

Ernesto Planas and I after the show
Then, we walked around and felt the cold breeze.
The night view of First World Hotel.

World Cup @ Genting Hotel
You do not need to go to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, we have one at First World Plaza too :P
And then I saw my kawan, the Pontianak, promoting the Haunted Adventure. (Click here to see my previous post about him)
This person claimed himself he does not have a stomach. He’s from Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

He said “Saya tak ada perut, macam mana saya mau makan? Saya tak ada perut ma..”
Then one girl beside me said
“Don’t stupid lar, he is actually lying on something and put his hand inside the costume only”OH I SEE!
We went for a 4D movie. I thought the movie named “Haunted House” will be exciting and horror, but I’m wrong. Genting’s 4D MotionMaster always disappointing me! I queued up for an hour to wait for my turn, the movie was about 10 minutes, I nearly fell asleep during the movie. Not exciting at all and it’s bored bored bored, like a kid’s cartoon. The Mr.Bean cartoon shown during our waiting is far more interesting than that.

Guess I'm showing a disappointed face or feel scary face?

After a night sleeping with the natural cold breeze, after my curry noodles and Kopi-O at Hou Mei Restaurant, after sitting at the staircase see people ride Flying Coaster and listen to them screaming, I left the highlands.

Anyway, I had a fun time in this short getaway. I spent not much for the whole trip as we ate for free with vouchers, watched show and ktv for free with free tickets, and the room is free also! The thing I like the most is I felt cold, easy and breezy here.

As for almost a week I’m being moody without a reason, I think I’m better now.
Cheer up babe!!

Ps: Still feeling so sick...something inside!

My Water Moments

I'm a girl who loves to take photo, even though I'm not as good as others. There's a wonderful expression that goes :'A picture is worth a thousand words'. I think this is definitely true. So now, I'm going to share my water moments with you. I really have many great water moments, but...I didn't have any underwater photo. *shame*

I'm currently studying in Kuala Terengganu. I often visit the beach near my hostel, it's only a 5 minutes walking distance away. My friends and I used to play with water and camwhoring with bare foot in the water.

As a photo lover, I capture beautiful wave, lovely people on the beach, and surely every moment we have with my baby Sony T77. Somehow, I'm so scared that my camera will drop into the water everytime when huge wave coming toward us, and keep holding tightly when I capture the photo.

When we splashing water to each other, we can only take pictures from far away, and zoom to focus.

Why? Because my baby Sony T77 is not water-proof!

I always envy my friend who owns a water-proof camera. She's able to capture colorful fishes swimming around her underwater and also beautiful corals on the seabed when she went snorkelling. So, with my Sony T77, I can only snap pictures of fishes above water level but couldn't capture the beauty of underwater world. What a missed... sigh...

(my friend posing in snorkelling gear and this photo is captured from the boat)

I always wish I can go all the way into the sea, swim freely and capture something with my very own camera. If I have a water-proof camera, wow! I can play in the water with no worries and capture every moment of me in the water.

Now, we have a brand new Sony Cyber-shot TX5. It's the World's Slimmest Water-proof Camera with 10.2 Megapixel and 4x Optical Zoom.

Sony TX5 is not only water-proof, but shock-proof, temperature-proof and dust-proof too.
It also comes with awesome features like Intelligent Sweep Panorama, Handheld Twilight and Anti-motion blur.

Another very attractive features are by using Sony TX5, you can takes 10 photos in 1 second!! Yoohoo!!!!

Hey, that's exactly what I'm looking for !
I want it so badly.. I need Sony TX5 to capture every moment of me in the water to complete my photo albums. Yea, the underwater photo!!
(I can use Sony TX5 even when I'm bathing too..hehe..just joking! =P )

Thanks to Nuffnang's 'My Water Moments' with Sony TX5 contest! I hope I stand a chance to win and I want the red one..!

I'm not homo sapiens?

Warning : photo below may contain frightful contain. Not suitable for kids aged below 25 (even myself in 22 felt gross out), or people with weak heart and stomach for ghastly images.

First, imagine you have more than 10 open wounds on both palms...your skin is inflamed, red, dry, covered with watery blisters and itchy...

When it is itching, you scratch, you peel, and then it bleeds..
When it is dry, you try to dampen your hand to get some 'moisture', you gone mad since your multiples open wounds are now flushed with water..
The greatest pain is when you find the open wounds are gradually connecting to each other and transforming into a large one...

How painful?
Just imagine someone cut your hand with blades, and then scrub your wounds with salt...go forward and backward!!
IT'S FUCKING PAINFUL!!

The only thing I can do is apply cortisone creams everytime after I washed hand and before I touch every single things I could touch, to reduce pain.

I guess 'm undergoing the process of skin changing, shedding the old skin and laying down new skin...like a snake!! Yea..like a snake, never stop shedding until death since the day we ( me and the snakes) born.

Mm..or actually i'm not homo sapiens, but I'm a snake?! pzzzz....pzzzz.......

欸!

A Famosa Aloha Summer

Since I’ve never been to A Famosa, so we take this opportunity to have a 2D1N getaway at A’Famosa Resort. And I’m looking forward to the Animal World Safari and its unique Cowboy Town. We went there on a weekday to avoid long waiting time and huge crowd! Yeah~ I hate waiting!!

We reached A Famosa Resort in the afternoon and we started our journey from the Animal World Safari. We were welcomed by these beautiful creatures!!

Actually no personal photographing of this parrot is allowed, but I managed to take one...bluek!

We went to the chicken farm, and enjoyed the walk through area. I touched the pony, deer, sheep, see monkeys, ducks, flamingos etc etc etc, haha...I love watching animals!!

baa baa sheep..they dont eat actually, i just itching them

After that we headed for the first show, the Wild Wild West. The show was funny with stupid actions and conversations between the cowboys, Red Indians and the clown. The action gimmick and loud explosion of guns was great!!

shoot his bleeding nose..piang*

Right after the Wild Wild West, we head to the Multi Animal Show. It’s bored with the animals playing dead, playing mini basketball, throw rubbish, etc. actually I felt sad for these animals. They lost freedom and forced to be trained just to get foods and entertain people.. If I could speak animal language, surely I will ask how they feel, seriously~ Somehow, the emcee of this Multi Animal Show impressed me a lot. He’s very sporting and he shakes and moves with the music!

We went for the bird show then. Again, the parrot was forced to draw. Its drawing worth Rm10 for each!!!!!! I enjoyed the show as it was very special. I was excited when the pigeons and eagles were flying low above our head but my friend was very scared as she hates flying creatures!
Oh yea, not forgot to mention, I get a special gift from the pigeons!! Haha..one of them 'drop feather' while flying and the feather dropped beside my leg...then I just pick it up and owned it loooo =P

We went to Monkey Island before the Elephant Show. We went there by a raft, I think it’s dangerous because the water can flow into the boat and caused imbalance. Monkeys here climb trees and roam freely and this blackie wanted to take my feather!!!! So naughty~

The elephant show had already started when we back from Monkey Island. The elephants ride bicycle, catch up with football fever, hug visitor with trunk, and play disco by shaking their head and trunk...wahahaha!!! lawak betul~ Another funny thing of the elephant show was two visitors from Iraq were offered massage from the elephant, front and back~ I wonder how the guy feels when Amoi is massaging his ‘precious’! Amoi was so gentle and cute. I guess he is pretty much enjoyed the massage. Erhem...wei...Amoi is the elephant!

kick kick kick

We immediately headed for the truck station for the Safari ride. We all are protected in a caged truck, watched horses, giraffes, zebras, lions, tigers, bears, camels, deer, ostriches, etc. Well, I think it’s not ‘wild’ enough, the animals seem very lazy and too tame. I had a dream that I could explore the wild in a gateless jeep, close with the wild creatures that I could almost touch them, some day in the future. Yea, South Africa can fulfill my dream!!!

the route to safari is a bumpy one

i wonder were they already being tranquillized
We then headed to check into our condotel. Our house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area and a living room. It was bigger than we expected, with nice view from the balcony. I give the condotel 4 out of 5, for better improvement..hehe.. After shower and a short rest, we had our dinner at nearby town, Tampin for Chinese dinner as food in A Famosa was a little too expensive and not attractive. The food in Tampin was great and in reasonably price.

i slept here..the whole bed

Well, night time is the time for Cowboy Town!!
I gone mad for Red Indian show and carnival...ROCK!!!!! We were late, therefore we seated quite far away and I didn’t manage to take good pictures of the fire eater. The emcee was the one I like the most, the guy from the Multi Animal Show. He danced with the background music and he gave great introduction.

Actually I don’t know what’s in the Red Indian show, it was like playing with fire only! Aha, the Red Indian guys aka fire eaters were those who act in the Wild Wild West show..and I met the fair-and-macho Red Indian!!! HE RECOGNIZED ME~~

While waiting for the carnival to start, bunch of Irans danced with the Arabic songs on the runway. I guess the management gave them special offer to entertain foreign tourists~ It was quite fun to watch them, and I decided to change my seat to another side for better view. Yeah, I did it correct. There came elephants and snakes for photoshooting and feeding, to earn money a~

Thanks to some kind ladies! They actually bought sugarcanes to feed the elephants, RM4 for each packet of 4 stems. When one of them fed the second stem, she was too scared about the elephant trunk, and she threw the packet to me and asked me to take it!!
“I don’t want to play already, you take it! Just take it!”
I was like har?!!what happened, tiba-tiba...”
“Take it, take it!!”
“Ooooookay, thank you!”
Lucky me get free chance to feed an elephant! Woohoo =P after the elephant grabbed the sugarcane, it squat a little and knot its head and trunk as thanks, I touched its trunk and terkena its snot...aaarrr...wet~ okay nvm!! Elephants are cute anyway!!

Then the carnival started. Monkeys on bicycles, ponies, dogs, chickens, ducks, elephants and even birds were parading in front of us. The Red Indians, dancers, Mak Nyahs (ahkua) , and performers were in it too. We danced with Mak Nyahs, wow..they really dance very very well..shake shake shake!!
He's giving me a flying kiss~
Ooopsss...lost balance because of too big
Elephants are shaking head with the disco music

The cute Red Indian guy I mentioned earlier spotted us (perhaps me only), and he came to me and pose for photo! He too specially performed to us (again, perhaps to me only) And I also played with another naughty Red Indian guy.

yea..he recognized me =P
He came to us, and I took his ‘big axe’ and played with him. Both us like real natives, trying to scare away each other with ‘weapon’ in hand..just imagine AVATAR!! He cheated, he then took out another ‘knife’ and put it beside my neck, my ‘big axe’ couldn’t frighten him away...okay, I surrender!! Hahaha...fun fun fun! My friends all said I’m very ‘guai-lan’ and playful..hahaha..bluek!! who cares..as long as I had fun, I’m happy~
spot his knife..that's pretty look like a real one!!
The carnival ended with fireworks display at the end of the runway. It makes a very stunning night sky!! I remember the last time I see such a long beautiful fireworks display so close was like 4 years ago..such a long time ago~
ahhhhhhhhh!!!! screaming while capturing this..( i know it's just so-so)
It was a much needed break for me. It’s been a long time I kept depression and dissatisfaction in my heart, deep inside. I took the opportunity to shout out when the fireworks burst, hehe..so that nobody can listen!! Even it was just for a day, this trip helps in getting myself recharged...I feel good now...Thanks to my ever best friends!!!

cheer =P
