If you ask me where and what am I doing now, I will say I’m currently studying in Kuala Terengganu (I called it KT) , but actually the university I’m in is located in a small town which is 30 minutes away from Kuala Terengganu.
I went KT by car, by van, by motorcycle…but this time is different. I hopped on a unique KT town bus, the “Park-bus”, and had a short tour in KT.
Why I called it the “Park-bus”?? Because the seats are park benches, with traditional wood carvings and its roof is like typical Malay house. Very special isn’t it?
And you can sit in whatever position you want to.
I called my “samseng” friends to join me to try this interesting bus trip.
After 40 minutes, we finally reach McD. Hop off and bought a value meal, then hop on another “Park-bus” and go home.
The journey end!
Erhem…….THAT’S NOT INTERESTING!!
Hahaha!! Just kidding lar! Don’t shoot me~
Okay now I tell you about the whole journey.
It all started when I spontaneously suggested go to Taman Tamadun Islam (TTI). I went there two years ago with my ex-roommate, by this special “Park-bus”. (You may click here and read) During that time, the bus was FOC and will only bring visitors from Dataran Shah Bandar to some attractive places by using route C-01 and C-02. Now, the bus is bringing people to more places, including the area I’m living and studying, UMT, by route C-03! But no more FOC, it’s RM1 for one way each route. Damn cheap~
Dear UMT students, If you wanna go to all attractive landmarks of KT, RM6 can make your wish become true!! (For transport only)
TTI is the first Islamic edutainment theme park in the world. TTI monument Park comes with 21 replicas of famous mosques and great Islamic monuments that replicate the Islamic arts and architectures. Just pay Rm15 for entrance and enjoy a RM3 rebate for meals.
We went at the wrong time. It started to rain when we enter the park. WTF WTF…
We waited, we tried to get a shed under Mosque of Mohamed Ali, at last we gave up and decided to explore the monument park in the rain! Woohooo~
Have you heard about the story about Taj Mahal of India?
Taj Mahal was built by the 5th Mughal king Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, as a symbol of his eternal love for her. And now I’m standing in front of Taj Mahal…….monument~
Let me show you some great monuments in the park.
Left: Kul Sharif Mosque of Russia.
Right: Kalyan Minaret of Uzbekistan. (Errr…where it is?)
Left: Mosque of Mohamed Ali of Egypt
Right: Al-Haram Mosque of Mecca of Saudi Arabia
Suleyman Mosque of Turkey
Great Mosque of Samarra of Iraq (look like a cake)
Besides the monuments, there are also playground and rides for kids.
After visited all the monuments, TTI verified us a complete visit. But actually I missed out the China mosque and our National Mosque, too bad!
Undeniable, those monuments displays are really very wonderful. This is a very good experience to widen my vision, although I’m not a Muslim.
Then we headed to Crystal Mosque.
The Crystal Mosque is another attractive icon of TTI, and even Kuala Terengganu. Umm, I don’t feel it is nice this time, maybe because of the cloudy weather, not much reflection of sunshine on the glass, hence no crystal-like image.
So, we finished our exploration of TTI and hopped on the last bus from TTI to Shah Bandar, and take another bus to back home.
Everything goes smooth, until we saw this!!
OMG~ NO BUS ALREADY!! Cannot go home! but we already bought the 2 way ticket. How?!!...Die lor~
Not really! “Samseng” girls like us continue our walk to Istana Maziah, the royal palace of Terengganu King, and Masjid Abidin aka Masjid Putih. This mosque is known as a mosque without any pillars. I don’t know whether is it true, but it’s really WHITE~
NO bus no need to die, just get a cab! Show your money, then everything will be fine!
5 hours short trip, spend RM19 to go to so many landmarks of KT ( Ohya I skip the State Museum aka the largest museum in South East Asia because I went there years ago~) What can I say?
The state government of Kuala Terengganu City, you did a good job!
