Mission: To attend a wedding ceremony
Venue: Teluk Intan, Perak
Date: a weekend
Who’s getting married: 2-years form teacher during high school, Ms.Kee (before she get married)
I was invited to attend a buffet dinner before the actual wedding day. There I met my friends and had a nice talk with all of them. Of course I was glad to see Miss Kee finally arrived in her Chinese wedding dress and turned into a Missus (Mrs).
That was a Buddhist wedding ceremony. It was my first time to attend this kind of wedding.
The ceremony started with the wedding couple walked down the aisle with their families. Then we all have to sing Triple Gem Song and read some Buddhist scriptures. Thanks to the experience of Buddhist Hymns Night I joined last few years, at least I know what Triple Gem Song is and how to pray, but I can’t sing and pray in proper way. I looked so awkward.
During the ceremony, the couple lights the candles and incense to Buddha. Also they offer flowers, water and fruits. They exchange vows in front of a Buddhist monk who blesses the marriage.

Some of my friends sang hymns to bless the couple.
The couple makes donation to PBHP. So kind, right?
The ceremony ended with happiness and full with blesses.
Their wedding is reported in newspaper too, together with how they met each other and their thoughts on the wedding. You can read it at here.
Being at a wedding, no matter in what religion, I feel very excited, warm, touched…I don't know what feeling it is...just feel very emotional and want to cry. A wedding is a celebration of love, family, friends and part of life. The bridegroom is falling so deeply in love with the bride, and the bride is falling so deeply in love with the bridegroom too... They are so lucky to meet the perfect one for them. And they now are willing to make the commitment to share happiness and wonder of life, also the rough times, sick and pain. Family and friends come together to celebrate this lovely day. It’s like bonding each other together with love. Isn’t it beautiful?
For me, it is a YES. *heart*
