The Grand Palace, Bangkok

As Isabella and I were assigned to be the in-charge person for the second day in Bangkok, we have to plan where to go before and after the visit to Halal Science Center of University Chulalongkorn (remember I was in an education trip?). We are very democratic one and we let everyone suggest where they want to go, but end up with “anywhere also can”. (Lame!!)

Since nobody want to decide, okay then I be the Boss larrr! XD

No first trip to Bangkok is complete without a trip to the Grand Palace. I die-die also want to go there!!!!! So, I make it the first place to go in the second day in Bangkok.

Isabella just came here last month so she's not gonna enter again and I don’t know where are the others.
Nvm!! I can explore the palace alone.

The soldiers were marching

The fee is 350baht which is inclusive of the entrance ticket to the Grand Palace and the Temple of Emerald Buddha, the Pavilion of Regalia, Royal Decorations and Coins, and Vimanmek Mansion Museum. But I didn’t go to Vimanmek Mansion Museum due to limited time.

Strict dress code applied in the Grand Palace. Must wear long long if you want to enter the palace. If you don’t, you can rent proper attire there. I am the most obedient good kid, coz I wear formal attire~

Let’s enter the Grand Palace.

The Grand Palace complex was established in1782 for King Rama I. It houses some government offices, some temples and the renowned Temple of Emerald Buddha.

The entrance with two giant Guardian

Temple of the Emerald Buddha

Very ***bling bling*** too much gold =.=

I found many China and Korea Tour Group in the complex. One smart way to have a tour guide is to sneak in the group, pretend as one of them. Can change to another group somemore if you dislike the tour guide. Hahahaha!!! (shhhh....)

Many people came here to worship the Emerald Buddha. I saw many sincere worshipers bend over their body to worship. Waaaa!!! Must be very magical one. So I followed, with bended knees only.

Cannot take photo in the temple, so I took from outside. The sacred Emerald Buddha is really very glittering. The walls are decorated with mural paintings.

I overhead a tour guide mentioned about the miracles this Emerald Buddha performed. The visit is incomplete without worship the Emerald Buddha.

I saw those aunties grabbed the lotus flower, dipped into the water and sprinkled on head. The kiasu me also followed them. I picked the largest one and sprinkled many times so that I can get greater miracles!! Hahaha.

Next to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is the Upper Terrance with 3 main monuments.

The golden chedi and guardian statues **bling bling**

The Royal Pantheon (Prasat Phra Thep Bidorn)

Phra Mondop

Everyone wants to take photo here. Don’t know why. I was alone. So I just simply asked other tourists to take photo for me. So paiseh to ask them to wait until my turn. Hehe~

Phra Siratana Chedi and Hor Phra Gandara Rat

Took photo with the soldier/guard. He looked so tense.

The last building is the European style Chakri Maha Prasat Hall upon exit. And finally met the others.

Actually I was quite blur in the complex. Many tourists, many buildings, and not much time for me to explore the place slowly. I keep rushing and look at the time only. I didn’t manage to go to some other temples.

Then I don’t know since when the ribbon attached on my shoes drop at somewhere already. Sorry Grand Palace, I didn’t mean to leave something/rubbish there.

Anyway, I was so amazed at the architectural splendor of these magnificent buildings. Very bling-bling and too much gold!!! So rich hor??
