BookFest @ Malaysia 2011

Last Sunday, initially wanted to send my laptop for a repair...but then ended up with I 'unintentionally' went to BookFest @ Malaysia 2011 organized by POPULAR Book Store at KL Convention Centre KLCC.

The theme is "One Book One World"

Sigh, I seldom read. It took me a year to read 'The Arabian Night', still not yet finish reading until today. =.= So I don't know when will only i get my ONE world.

 The admission is RM2.50.
Free for students below 18 y/o and senior citizens above 60 y/o.

The books here are divided into Chinese and English sections, also the stationery products, music albums etc.

There will be special appearance of famous authors with autograph, talk sessions and forum on each single day.

On the day I went, the super VVIP was Tun Dr Mahathir. He was there to launch the Chinese edition of his memoirs, A Doctor in The House.

The exhibition will open from 27 August - 4 September 2011 for 9 days.

If you want to buy your favourite books in a lower price, go to BookFest @ Malaysia 2011.

PS: and my not-functioning laptop is still dead *unhappy*

National Museum Bangkok

We went to National Museum Bangkok after The Grand Palace.

The objective is to learn Thai history and understand more about Thailand.

The entrance ticket cost 200baht. At first I didn’t enter because I was kiamsiap lor, not willing to spend on a museum. Anyway, special thanks to my lecturer for giving me her ticket as she was tired after the first zone. So she asked me to continue her journey. Yay!!! Super duper lucky me~

The National Museum originally was the personal museum of King Rama IV with his collection of antiques and royal gifts. The museum was then opened by King Rama V in the year of 1874 as a public museum to exhibit relics and the royal collection of King Rama IV. The museum is then developed to be National Museum Bangkok in 1933.

The Grand Palace, Bangkok

As Isabella and I were assigned to be the in-charge person for the second day in Bangkok, we have to plan where to go before and after the visit to Halal Science Center of University Chulalongkorn (remember I was in an education trip?). We are very democratic one and we let everyone suggest where they want to go, but end up with “anywhere also can”. (Lame!!)

Since nobody want to decide, okay then I be the Boss larrr! XD

No first trip to Bangkok is complete without a trip to the Grand Palace. I die-die also want to go there!!!!! So, I make it the first place to go in the second day in Bangkok.

eeeeePoh IPOH

When talk about Ipoh, few things come to my mind.

Ipoh Nga-choy-gai (bean sprout and chicken), Ipoh Chicken Hor-fun, Ipoh white coffee, Ipoh pomelo, Ipoh cave temples and Ipoh lengchai lenglui.

When I was in Teluk Intan, Ipoh is just 1½ hour away. If you can drive very fast, it only takes an hour. When I was a kid, parents brought me there to shop for nice pretty colorful new dresses. First, eat DimSum. Then go shopping. Then lunch. After lunch, go to Ipoh Old Town drink Ipoh Old Town white coffee. Then byebye. Before that, sometimes buy pomelo, sometimes chicken-curry-bread, sometimes salted-chicken.

When I was in high school, I went there with friends for bowling, movie (before TI has a cinema) and shopping during holidays, by bus!! It was a big group like about 15-20 people. I remember the time we chased for the town bus to back to bus terminal, begged bus driver to wait for the others who stuck in traffic jam. Hahahaha, those days when we were young!!! So bersemangat~

But I can’t remember did my parents bring me to any Ipoh caves before. Oh maybe I was too young at that time?

This time I don’t want others, I only want caves!!

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Our first day in Bangkok was a Saturday!!

Yay! Going to Chatuchak Weekend Market!!

We took a cab from our guest house at Khao San Road to Chatuchak to see Thai food culture and what kind of food we can get from there (one of the objectives of the education trip...ahem!).

6 girls squeezed into a cab to save cost.
There’s 8 people in the cab and the driver still say “NO PROBLEM, KAP KAP!!”
Thai got no police and no saman one ar?
and luckily Thai's cabs are all Toyota!! Good car XD

Khao San Road, Bangkok

It’s been a week since I back from Bangkok. So many photos to collect from other friends and also have to write a report on the trip.

This is not actually a full free & leisure trip, but an education trip. But don't know why, it turned out to be more to a leisure trip. Hehe :)

I received an email from my lecturer, saying that I was selected to be 1 of the 18 to fly to Bangkok for an education trip under sponsorship of the faculty.

WHOA! What can I say? I am damn super lucky!!! With free two way flight ticket + free accommodation for 5D4N ehhh!!

I think the Universe really can hear me. I remember one day before I received the email, I was complaining to my friend that I have no money to travel oversea and he told me the same thing. The next day, we both got free pass to go Bangkok!!!!

Ahem, I got bring my heart and attention to Bangkok okay? I was soooooo focus during the talks and visits. (Trust me!!)
